Hi Monika, that is correct, there currently is no easy way. Collection policies being inherited only upon submission is one of the most common gotchas for new users. This has been discussed several times and we agree that it's a problem. We just need a volunteer to fix it. With your new experience contributing to DSpace, would you consider attempting this larger change? I think it would be much more beneficial (to all users) than fixing things ex post in your repository. I'm sure we'll try to help you with any questions you may have.
