Hi, Monika, if you "view source" on a page of the repository in question, regardless of which UI it runs (jspui or xmlui) near the top you'll see a tag that looks like:
<meta name="Generator" content="DSpace 4.0-SNAPSHOT" /> or <meta name="Generator" content="DSpace 4.1" /> If it says "4.0-SNAPSHOT," that repository is running a version of master, from the 3.x era. Same goes for other SNAPSHOT versions (just subtract 1 from it to figure out what version of the source code it's based on).
