Hi Monika, this depends on how you used the field. If it is used in indices or facets or in an oai crosswalk you have to adjust the configuration and recreate the indices etc.
There may be more than the mere config files to be touched, they may appear in - the message catalogues - the input forms - item display - crosswalks - be referenced in email templates - in embargoes - curation tasks ...
