Hello everyone, please, note that DSpace 5, due to be released in December, will make multi-version upgrades a little easier, so if you're planning one, you may consider waiting for the release. DSpace 5 will do the database upgrades from older versions automatically, thus removing many manual steps. We want to ensure this new feature is well tested, so if you have an old DSpace version, we invite you to test the migration of your old DSpace database on a DSpace 5 release candidate installation in a testing environment (I agree with Vinod that the recommended way to upgrade a very old DSpace version is to make a fresh installation of DSpace 5 and give it a copy of your old database, assetstore and indexes, which it will upgrade). The DSpace 5 testathon will be soon announced in a separate email.
