Assuming you're using Solr for search. It seems like the author field
for search takes into account both metadata fields (i.e. doesn't
distinguish them):

The default for browse in DSpace 3.x was still DB-based, but you can
try changing it to Solr-based, like in newer versions of DSpace:

Regarding dc.date.issued, I think that one is hardcoded in many places
across the codebase and might not be so easy to change. I personally
would try to avoid the headache.
