Hi Everyone,
As suggested by helix84 environment variables were not being recognized.
I started the tomcat with the command: *service tomcat7 [start / restart]*,
tomcat was not recognizing the environment variables, and thus, this
variables were not used. So I started tomcat directly of the
directory: */etc/init.d/tomcat7
[start / restart]*, and thus, the environment variables were loaded.
The dspace environment is active for more than three days without the need
to restart it, the performance is very favorable, and indexing (dspace
index-discovery command without options) takes less than 30 minutes.
Results of "ps -ax | grep java":
java
-Djava.util.logging.config.file=/var/lib/tomcat7/conf/logging.properties
-Djava.awt.headless=true -Xmx512m -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC
-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true
-Djava.util.logging.manager=org.apache.juli.ClassLoaderLogManager *-Xmx1024m

-Djava.endorsed.dirs=/usr/share/tomcat7/endorsed -classpath

-Dcatalina.base=/var/lib/tomcat7 -Dcatalina.home=/usr/share/tomcat7
-Djava.io.tmpdir=/tmp/tomcat7-tomcat7-tmp
org.apache.catalina.startup.Bootstrap start
Environment variables:
JAVA_OPTS=-Xmx1024m -Xms512m -XX:MaxPermSize=192m -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8
CATALINA_OPTS=-Xmx1024m -Xms512m -XX:MaxPermSize=192m -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8
Thanks everyone for more this help!
Best regards,
Anisio

Hi Anisio,
1) How many items and bitstreams do you have in your repository? Your
options should be sufficient for at least several 10k of items and
bitstreams.
2) Do you have many very large fulltexts? (those may quickly blow up
the size of your Solr index) What is the size of your
[dspace]/solr/search directory?
3) It's possible you didn't specify the environment variables in the
correct environment (Tomcat might not be picking them up). Run this
command as your dspace user to verify:
ps ax | grep java

Hi Anisio,
JAVA_OPTS='-Xms2048M -Xmx1024M ...
You set the minimum memory size larger than the maximum memory size. I
don't know how Java reacts to this kind of inconsistency.
Best regards,
Anja
