Also, are you using linux or windows? Your message included "D:\", which
indicates Windows. Linux / Mac is recommended, but Windows should still
work, just different. I would recommend using the SAFBuilder tool, has
documentation at:
https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACE/Simple+Archive+Format+Packager
Ensure that your "source" is in proper "Simple Archive Format" directory
structure, such as:
/home/dspace/batchimport1
- item1
contents
dublin_core.xml
thesis1.pdf
- item2
contents
dublin_core.xml
thesis2.pdf
...
