Thank you so much for your prompt response. However, if I got you well, I went
to the DRI page but I got the following exception:
org.apache.cocoon.ResourceNotFoundException: Page cannot be found
Do you think there is something wrong with my Dspace installation? Is it
incomplete?
Or I should access the DRI using another way?

I had exactly the same problem.
go to http://your.dspace.org/DRI/ (Digital repository interface of dspace
homepage)
and then check if /simpleURL == /advancedURL
<metadata element="search" qualifier="simpleURL">/discover</metadata>
<metadata element="search" qualifier="advancedURL">/discover</metadata>
If they are equal then that's why advance search link doesn't show up.
