I was looking at the code, I'm not sure if there is a C library for storing
the maildir files?
I believe the changes would only affect 2 small localized areas, one in
dspam.c and another in dspam.cgi correct?

FWIW, if I do this, it will be as part of rewriting the entire webui in
the form
of a mod_perl/Mason application (which will be much easier to maintain).
