Category: doc Group: None >Status: Closed >Resolution: Invalid Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Alan Ott (otterpop81) Assigned to: Ion-Mihai "IOnut" Tetcu (itetcu) Summary: With Hash Driver, Email Addresses are Case Sensitive Initial Comment: If an email comes in for u...@domain, and another email comes in for u...@domain, their data will be stored in two separate databases, (eg: /var/dspam/data/u...@domain and /var/dspam/data/u...@domain). When doing training by forwarding, forwarding an email addressed to u...@domain to spam-u...@domain, will fail to re-train. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Stevan Bajic (sbajic) Date: 2009-08-02 17:08 Message: I am now going to close this bug and tag it as invalid. Alain: Postfix does NOT need the broken case to be active. At least not per default. It all depends what you do inside Postfix and how you do it. For example calling the DSPAM retraining script/binary over a Postfix pipe service is one option and it is up to you to say what you want to do with the recipient address. You can set the optional message processing flags to be whatever you like. So adding a "h" there does already the lower-case conversation. The option inside DSPAM is just in case your MTA does not support that feature. Kind Regards from Switzerland Stevan Bajic ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Alan Ott (otterpop81) Date: 2009-04-29 15:06 Message: I do not believe it to be Postfix-specific. However, Postfix requires this option (Broken case) to be set in order to work properly. The fact that it is an option (and defaulted off) leads me to believe that other mailers do not need this option to be set. I cannot speak for other mailers though. Again, I can't say which mailers do and which mailers don't need it, but I can say that Postfix does need it, which is why it should be mentioned in doc/postfix.txt. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Ion-Mihai "IOnut" Tetcu (itetcu) Date: 2009-04-29 11:46 Message: Can you please point out to me why is this postfix-specific? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Alan Ott (otterpop81) Date: 2009-04-28 15:01 Message: Setting the Config Item "Broken case" fixes this problem. The document doc/postfix.txt should be modified to specify this configuration setting. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=1126467&aid=2781820&group_id=250683 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day trial.
