There's no 404 in my proposal (404s are always bad). What I'd like to do is: - if the request to the project website goes to a page that exists right now, then redirect it to the relevant page on the wiki. - if the request concerns a non-existant page page (a 404 in the current situation), then redirect to the wiki homepage. When sending correct redirect headers, nuclearelephant.com URLS should even be replace by the correct URL in google etc. (301 as Julien suggests) Additionally, we could analyze the apache logs (need to look up if they are available to us from SF) to look for pages that are still requested often, but no longer existant, and then: - add additional redirects - contact the creator of the referer to update the referring page (when appropriate). -- Tom ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ uberSVN's rich system and user administration capabilities and model configuration take the hassle out of deploying and managing Subversion and the tools developers use with it.
