I'm looking to build a fresh "appliance" based on Ubuntu server (8.04 or
8.10), using dSpam 3.8.x, with Postfix

There seems to be very little in the way of up-to-date documentation, so
if someone can assist me getting things working "the right way" I'm
happy to document it for the wiki.

My goals are:
- To install from .deb packages, no compiler installed on the server.
Hopefully this means I will find that someone is maintaining Debian
packages, if not I'll need assistance to build the packages on another
machine to transfer
- To install a flexible server configuration around Postfix and dspam,
which will handle mail for a few dozen domains with differing requirements
- To allow individual domains to be opted in or out of spam checking
(I'm happy if that's an admin task, I just need to be able to have some
spam-checked and some un-checked on the same server).
- For some domains, to provide store-and-forward facilities (with or
without spam checking), eg to forward mail on to an Exchange server or
similar
- For other domains, to provide POP3/IMAP mailboxes

A lot of this falls outside dspam, but hopefully those are the "easy"
bits for anyone who knows the mail side (if not I'll look elsewhere for
that help - it's not "easy" for me). But the dspam bits are the key bits
that will affect which of the many ways I could configure postfix/etc
are best.
