Great to hear there is a new release. I'm still using the official 3.8  
release.

Just a curious question, is this a proper release to be used in  
production or is this a pre-release only to be tested in a non- 
production environment. I'm a bit thrown off by the ALPHA2...

I'm going to test it anyway on Mac OS X and MySQL.
