I understand that. But to be honest: You should not have any issues when doing the update from 3.6.8 to 3.8.0. I mean 3.8.0 is by now good 2 or 3 years old and if you should have issues then +/- everyone here in the list will be able to help you.
Okay, so now I'm running 3.8.0 (and will upgrade as soon as a the dspam-devel port is updated)

Check it if you can. If there is in you dspam data directory (call "dspam --version" and check for the entry "--with-dspam-home=". That entry is your home directory or alternatively check in dspam.conf for the value "Home") a file called "group" then please post back the content of that file.
There is no file called "group".

Good! You are using TUM training mode. Because you said that your accuracy is low I would suggest to switch to TOE until you get again better results.

Done.

TestConditionalTraining on
Feature whitelist
Algorithm graham burton
Tokenizer chain
PValue bcr

For a 3.6.8 those values are reasonable.
And for 3.8.0?

Maybe setting statisticalSedation to zero would be beneficial for you. That would force DSPAM to assume more of your mail volume to be spam.

Set in your dspam.conf the following:
Preference "statisticalSedation=5"
AllowOverride statisticalSedation
First you say zero and then you recommend 5? :) It's been set to 5 now anyways.

And then go to the Web UI in the "Preference" tab and set "Filter sensitivity during the training period" to the left most value you can and save the preferences.
Done.

I think 3.6.8 has the "Feature" option. If so, then set the following values as well in your dspam.conf:
Feature noise
Feature whitelist
Feature tb=5
This recommendation has been ignored since I'm now running 3.8.0 (correct?)

If you find a "Lookup" entry, then set it to something reasonable (like zen.spamhaus.org or bl.spamcop.net or any other DSNBL you are NOT using on your MTA level). I am right now not sure if 3.6.8 had DNSBL lookups or not.
I'm already (and successfully) using DSNBL in Exim.

My stats have been reset, I'll just have to sit around and wait for the performance to increase now? :)

Thanks a lot,
-Patrik
