Yes, the instructions were easy to follow. I did have to make a couple of
changes on my system. First, I had to change DSPAM to run under a dspam
user and group (instead of as postfix as I previously had it configured),
since Postfix will not run a pipe as the mail system owner (postfix in my
case).

I also had to add "--user retraining" to the pipe command string. My
retrains were giving a signature not found error before doing that. I found
the following section in the README:

        Note:

        The 'root' user represents any active dspam user. It is necessary to
        supply a username on the commandline or DSPAM will bail on
        an error, however the user will be changed internally once the
signature
        is read.

I created a dummy user (retraining) in the dspam_virtual_uids table in MySQL
and using the following in master.cf, along with the PCRE transport map you
provided, I have retraining working:

        dspam-retrain   unix   -      n       n       -       -       pipe
          flags=Rhq user=dspam:dspam argv=/usr/local/bin/dspam
          --class=${nexthop}
          --source=error
          --user retraining

>Do you think that the original documentation of DSPAM is confusing
regarding the training with an alias? Maybe we should extend the
>documentation? Should I look that the instructions get added to the DSPAM
documentation? What do the other DSPAM users think?

The MySQLUIDInSignature section of the README file gives good information on
setting up the aliases, but I think it would be beneficial to add the
Postfix specific configuration to the doc/postfix.txt file. It currently is
geared more towards the ParseToHeaders method, and that is how I came up
with the hybrid method that I was using with 3.8.0, not knowing that it
shouldn't have actually worked and that there was a better method.
