Hi Remo, I do not know vpopmail, but from what i could tell, from some info i got on the qmailrocks type of install, which makes use of vpopmail, i would say that vpopmail has the same behaviour as stock qmail in what comes to invalid user accounts. Stock qmail accepts ALL messages and the produces bounces for the undeliverable messages, which include inexistent users/accounts. So bottom line is you should get your qmail aware of valid users at the start of the SMTP conversation.
