Is Chinese written with spaces between the words? My experience with Japanese is that Japanese that words are not necessarily separated by spaces, so whole phrases are treated like single words. That may make the tokens so unique that they are of little use. Japanese grammar is not Chinese grammar, in spite of the use of similar character sets. Just my experience, YMMV.
