Yes, I've tested deleting the firstrun file in the user directory. I've also 
tested with creating new users all together.

I've also tried with full permissions - chmod 777 firstrun.txt

I found some old posts regarding notifications not working if you specify a 
different sysconfdir. My dspam home dir is: /var/dspam and sysconfdir is: /etc

I have tried with the firstrun.txt in:
/var/dspam/txt
/var/dspam
/etc
/etc/txt

Still no good...
