I tried switching from a "real" database to the hash driver to see  
what would happen.

For those interested, CRM114/Markov processing went from 30 to 11  
seconds.  A big win.

But the user-specific preferences (web page for setting BNR, SED,  
Whitelisting..) is no longer showing what was in there previously (no  
surprise since I removed the database driver) and it is no longer  
something that I can update anymore.

Is this controlled by PREFERENCES_EXTENSION?
