for Kuby, N6JSX /8 and other linux users;
I run the DVTool on CentOS 5. The key to success with the DVTool on linux here is a correct shell script with a java path designated. I run many different versions of java, so this was the most effective way; my shell script; ---------------------------------------------------------------- #!/bin/bash cd /root/download/DVTool PATH=/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_06/jre/bin:$PATH:. java -jar DVTool.jar.105beta3 ---------------------------------------------------------------- The cd path can be modified to suit your install location. The java path will be correct, if the platform is installed to Sun“s install instructions. If jre ver is used, then use; PATH=/usr/java/jre1.6.0_06/bin:$PATH:. java -jar DVTool.jar.105beta3 You can use DVTool.jar, if you rename the current beta, but Linux doesn't mind the file name like windows so the above works with original beta filename of file placed in DVTool folder and trhe DVTool.jar can be left unchanged.with it. Use a desktop launcher(link to application) or desktop menu to add the dvtool.sh execution. Copy and paste above lines(edited to your cd path and jdk/jre version) one at a time into console to test DVTool startup if you like. vk4tux
