I use a Magellan 320 with a home made cable - just solders to the back of the GPS receiver - took a cell fone charger to replace the batteries in the Magellan - there is some info in either the files or links here. At home (fixed location) I use a program called NMEA GEN to simulate a GPS receiver - feeds the radio lat, lon and elevation - I can make it look like I am anywhere. Good for testing to make sure the radio is set up correctly.
The GPS receiver should have NMEA output, RS-232 @ 4800 baud, best I remember. 73, Steve NU5D --- In [email protected], "Jim" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Thanks for the sync cable info ne????? what type of GPS can I get (not > a lot of $$$) that can directly plug into ID800 >
