Agreed with Tom, this "busy" indication and the port speed setting are
the most common reasons an ID-800H won't transmit low speed data, if the
setting is set to auto transmit in the rig.

Also make sure GPS mode is turned OFF if you're doing low-speed data
from other applications, and not hooking a GPS directly to the rig. GPS
mode looks for NMEA strings and ignores the rest, not transmitting it if
it's not in an NMEA GPS format.

Also a side-note/comment:

Be careful about terminology just to not confuse everyone. Most folks
on the lists refer to low speed data as "DV-Data" or similar.

"DD" refers to the completely different on-air protocol used by the ID-1
and the 1.2 GHz "Access Point" modules at the repeater sites for 128
KB/s (high speed) data.

"Data" on any other rigs is just the always-there, interleaved data
stream that's present in ALL "DV" (Digital Voice) transmissions in the
D-STAR standard. It is not in "DD" format, and probably shouldn't be
called "DD" so we don't mix up the two distinctly different protocols
when troubleshooting things.

An ID-800H can't do "DD".

Hope that helps...
