Thanks to all for confirming what I suspected.

I find the U82 to be a nice little HT, but need glasses to read the
display just for basic analog.  

I couldn't imagine it giving me the full effect (callsigns at the least).

Probably a better investment is to save up for the 92AD and ID-800H as
planned.
