Those look like nice radios, a direct replacement for the ID-800 and a lower 
end (single receive only) entry level HT that is hopefully less expensive than 
the 91. It sounds like they worked on usability for them as well, which will 
certainly be welcomed by most of our local hams. 

On second though, after converting the prices...

62,790 = $700US for the ID-880D
52,290 = $585US for the ID-80

Those prices include the Japanese VAT so it should be reasonable to expect them 
to come down quite a bit when they make it over the shore but still not hardly 
entry level...
