I remember the stark contrast when the company I worked for at the time switched from Novell 3.11 to Windows NT. The Novell server was so stable that I only recall one or two occasions in 2 years when anyone had to restart it. It was an old P90 box that just ran.... and ran, and ran, and ran. :) The DOS client was a different matter, if the network connection dropped for more than a fraction of a second, it was hosed.
