Well, in Australia, Foundation class licensees are NOT allowed to use 
D-STAR.  However, a couple were active before this rule was 
clarified, and their 7 letter calls worked fine on D-STAR.  THe only 
time 7 letters is a problem is when it's the repeater's callsign, as 
this breals port routing (because of the extra slash).
