I normally setup the frequencies, callsigns, etc in VFO mode, then 
save the combination into a memory.  Works every time for me.  Using 
the software is easier, but the above strategy works when I have to 
make a change in the field, without the benefit of the programming software..

Setup the frequency and callsign data as you want them in VFO mode, 
then save the result into a memory.  However, I normally just 
save  everything except the UR callsign, except for stations I call 
all the time.  The rest are usually in the callsign memory, as I 
don't talk to a huge number of stations. :)
