Hi Everybody,
I was sent some .PDF files some time ago that were authored by Arch, KT4AT. I'm
not sure who sent them... but they made for very interesting reading.
They detail issues Arch found with the ID-RP4000V TX RF control on and off
times, specifically with the use of the unit with an outboard RF amplifier.
He analyzed the RF power control circuit with a circuit simulation and came up
with a simple fix for both the severe ringing upon TX enable and rapid fall
times which cause RF spikes during TX off.
Has anyone here familiar with these documents and have implemented the changes
detailed by Arch? I'm not using my system with an amplifier, but I can imagine
the fixes he came up with would be beneficial for all ID-RP4000V units due to a
cleaner and more stable RF output.
Regards,
Michael.
