I once saw a video from the Dayton Hamvention of AA4RC talking about the DV DongleTX (DV Dongle with the transmitter). Does anyone know when this unit will be in production?

There was also talk of a version with both RX and TX. Any news on the development of this unit and when it will be available?

I saw Robin at the Shelby NC hamfest in early September. He said a prototype with both TX and RX is working now, so maybe we'll see a production unit in the first half of 2010 (that's my guess, not his).

It looks like a DVDongle with a little rubber duck on it. He's calling it an "access point" because the name "HotSpot" is already used by others. Set it up with an Internet connection, and use your HT to connect to and talk through repeater gateways on the network. There is setup software to get it started, but you choose and make gateway connections using call signs in your HT the same way you do it with repeaters.
