Jack, NO MODS re needed for the Cross Band to function..
As of today, I had switched to FM-N (Narrow) on the radio and it seems to have
improved the signal, and if your NOT using a repeater and just extending the
Simplex work, None of the Off-set in either radios are needed. The use of a
ZERO of-set will allow for RPT1 & RPT2 to function.. But again NO MODS, this
radio is right out of the box..
There are now 3 of us in the area setting up for Simplex coverage to allow
those farther East of me access to at least get started in using D-Star, Any
one of the 3 can connect to a repeater and make that link also.
So this is a viable option if you have not a lot of choices..
