Hi Andrea,
In theory, it should be possible to pipe the serial data/clocks and RE/TE 
through an WiFi IP link... as long as the latency isn't too bad. 
I've actually thought about doing this myself as well, but I have yet to find 
the right hardware to do it yet.
It would also be good to work out how the mysterious 10GHz linking interface 
functions and see if that can be connected to a non-Icom RF link. The facility 
is there in the controller, but I don't know of anyone who has even seen the 
elusive ID-RP2L equipment.
There is always something new to try and work out!
