Ah. Already subscribed to that and reading all posts with great 
interrest! Could not just link these two things together :)

Is the IO for PTT & COS or what? We use the CM108 chip with Thelinkbox, 
a multi-protocol VoIP client, and we can use the 4bit GPIO on the CM108 
for the PTT and other digital IO requirements. That could be propably a 
good approach for you controller too, to get just a single wire from the 
controller to a radio!
