You got me lost. I thought that you were asking how to link a reflector. When working with Reflectors or linking repeaters, you should never use a / in any field.
The only time that a / would be used is if you are call sign routing to a repeater. In this case, if the /callsign is not in the packet, it won't reach the other repeater. And you won't hear the remote stations unless they program their radios to talk to you. For linking, you issue the L command and then return to the CQCQCQ in the UR field. When finished, you then use the U command to unlink. For call sign routing, you have to set the route and always use it. The other station has to set the route and always use it. You will not hear users on the remote repeater that don't have the proper routing set. Do I need a / in front of the repeater call? After connecting I would then enter CQCQCQ on my end? Or am I thinking of connecting to a reflector? Thanks N0MEQ
