I use a Magellan GPS320 (older receiver) and soldered a 3 wire hookup to pads on the rear of the unit and feed the NMEA output from the GPS320 into my ID800. Magellan offers a cable for hookup to external devices, but the unit was old and I didn't feel like buying a cable. Also used an old cellular telephone charger to power the GPS in place of internal batteries. Seems like I did have to set the baud rate in the GPS320 to match the ID800. Best success, steve
