Good morning,

Sorry to hear about your experience - I know how frustrating that can be.  Have
you tried to check the status of the repeater's link?  You can do that by
programming the "UR" call to be the call sign of the repeater and the eighth
character an "I" (with the rest of the call sign fields filled out
appropriately).  You can look here
http://www.dstarinfo.com/Calculator/DSTAR%20Web%20Calculator.aspx for specific
programming settings (use the repeater status function).

Another option, if you have a DVDongle, is to attempt to connect to a reflector
to see if you are registered with the network.  If you are able to transmit
(I.E. the transmit button is enabled) you are good to go and the problem is
probably with the repeater.

I hope this helps and I hope you don't give up on D-STAR.  It is a great mode
with a lot of great people on it.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Good luck & 73,
Robert Kluck - N4IJS
