Carl, I believe that your radio does use the auto-offset for DV mode. What you have to look at is the range of the auto-offset. The instruction manual of the U82 shows the following:
Frequency range Duplex direction 145.200-145.495 MHz "-" appears 146.610-146.995 MHz 147.000-147.395 MHz "+" appears 442.000-444.995 MHz "+" appears 447.000-449.995 MHz "-" appears So a repeater with a frequency of 445.X won't have the duplex automatically set. Doesn't matter whether it is FM or DV. I am registered but have found conflicting frequencies listed. I am trying to find out if W3EOC Port C (70 cm) is on 445.006875 or 445.075 or 445.06875 have found these frequencies listed. I have an IC-U82, Yes I Know it's first generation, but have had the HT for a while and like it. I plan to use it for local D-STAR. And yes I Googled for information and that's why I ask. Thanks for your time, Tom Kb3hg
