Art,
If it is the same (being ICOM it probably is) as the V82 and 2200, the 
connections are backwards from the Kenwoods.  I just went through this last 
week trying to get the GPS to work on the ICOMS and it does now.  The TXD and 
RXD need to be switched around and you should be good to go.
