While talking on a 2-meter D-STAR repeater tonight, I noticed that every time I keyed up I lost GPS "lock" (evidenced by blinking "GPS" on the display).
Did some tinkering around and discovered it's any 2-meter transmit, ie anywhere in the band, FM or "DV". Is this common? Antenna is a mag mount on the center of the roof of an '04 Trailblazer, and the GPS antenna cable is fed through the "gutter" near the right front door, tucked behind the cheap plastic dashboard, and emerges such that the antenna sits under the windshield. "normal" GPS reception is solid. And this doesn't ever happen on UHF. Is there normally enough signal here that a "choke" on that lead is in order? -73-
