Me too Paul,

Currently experimenting with a cheap sirfstar gps with only bluetooth for a
connection. Been out of digital radio for a while so its good fun. I have got
to the point of configuring ui-view, agwpe pro and the mapping. This works
with data from both the gps and live aprs available on map. Next to connect up
a serial line to the approriate port on the radio to see what happens - ui-view
seems to be the software of choice, and has a gps data output to a serial port.
My next step is to hook that up to the radio via a serial line. (Once that is
running will experiment with a Bluetooth serial port in place of wires).

All this is on the bench and hooked up to a dell celeron pc. When this works
will blueprint and transfer to mobile rig. Interesting problems found with
bluetooth utilities and multiple serial ports spawned by connecting and
disconnecting the various pieces of kit - so will be interested in fixing the
port numbers which seem to change at will if not careful.

It seems to me that all the activities and capabilities of the 880H are
separate applications for the 880 and some of them may not be possible
simultaneously but I am just working through. Finding people with the
experience and documentation is a bit of a struggle ( too much
documentation(!). Multiple APRS systems to choose from etc.)

I also want to use the slow data connection via the same port with d-rats, I am
sure that is a completely separate piece of work, but it does have gps and
mapping, so there are a number of alternatives and options.

It seems a bit hit and miss all this trial and error stuff...but I am enjoying
figuring it out and taking a stepwise approach. The problem solving is very
rewarding.

Hope this helps, (hope it works;-)
