Gerry,
Yeah, I know . and so when somone asks "so how's D-Star", I just politly say "if, great, I'm loving it" and leave it at that unless they ask more. When / if someone whos curious asks "whats there to like" I just politly say that its opened the world to me in that without working DX on HF, I just effortlessly choose what community I want to visit and I'm there . and I leave it at that. I suspect that some are maybe feeling like they'd like to know more. As though they're fighting the curiosity. Bizarre! Donald, I hear that sort of complaint a lot, but usually from folks who never have played with it, and aren't too technically astute. They don't really care to try a new technology, and thus are intimidated by it, or at least are afraid of it. Tonight, someone asked me why we were putting up a digital voice system. My answer was, "Because it's a new technology to play with." The respone to that was, "Uh, oh, OK!" gerry n5jxs Donald James wrote: > > > Hi Fran, I'm celebrating D-Star, its just that I didn't anticipate the > reactiosn I got from locals about it, saying its just a fad, over-priced > for nothing! > > > > Whatever, I'm here and happy to be part of this group!! > > > > Donald ~ N2VU > > > > > > -----Original Message----- > *From:* [email protected] <mailto:dstar_digital%40yahoogroups.com> > [mailto:[email protected] <mailto:dstar_digital%40yahoogroups.com> ] *On Behalf Of *Francis Miele > *Sent:* Thursday, July 22, 2010 3:50 PM > *To:* [email protected] <mailto:dstar_digital%40yahoogroups.com> > *Subject:* Re: [DSTAR_DIGITAL] AZ commited to D-star! > > > > > > don't get discouraged in NY.
