I had totally forgotten that pre-integration excitement. Truly a wonderful tool done by some of Sun's best engineers. Delighted to see its well deserved success.
I've often wondered where Solaris would be today if Bonwick hadn't put Bryan's resume on my chair and wrote "Hire him" on it. Bryan led to Mike and then to a host of others from Brown and other universities. This youthful ferment led to innovations such as DTrace and other great Solaris 10 features. It would not have been done without them.
