What is the status of DTrace substr function? It was integrated into Neveda build 15 and it is available on Solaris 10 systems (U4 - u8 x64) I am working on. I cannot find any documentation on it, and there appears to be a bug in it that I cannot reproduced on OpenSolaris.
I think you're getting bitten by: 6642281 substr() doesn't properly null-terminate which was fixed in build 88 of Nevada but hasn't been backported to Solaris 10. Sorry about that. If you really need a fix for Solaris 10 and you have a service contract, log a call and escalate the bug.
