I recommend you install yum - this will figure out and automatically
install all your dependancies. Yum is well covered by google.
If you have uncommon packages that arent in any of the repositories you
find for your distro, then create your own repository with createrepo,
then yum will find its dependancies from the other repos.
Installing from source is draining on your time. Only do it if you plan
to customise your install or build.
