The error message says it all. You need to have a valid username on the server and configure it on the client that uses pop3. If you do have a valid username, then the pop3 server is not being able to auth you to it. Check the configuration maybe?
Btw took me exactly 14 seconds to copy paste the error in to firefox and google gave the first hit on what the error code meant.
The problem might be with your account setup or the way you have configured your pop3 server. Cant tell unless you provide any further details.
