Hi Rex,
I cannot answer all of your questions as I don't run windows, but will
give a few pointers and try to help as much as possible.
SyncML OBEX Binding - SyncML is the syncronisation markup language,
and is a platform independent info sync standard. This is the protocol
that syncs your calenders and to do lists. OBEX is object Exchange
and is the communications protocol that facilitates the exchange of
binary objects between devices.
So back to your original question can you get nokia / sony to sync
with open source software. The answer is mobile master. It has a try
for free option, if you are satisifed with the trial, then buy the
full version.
