1) I seem to have troble sharing out a directory with
a large number of files (in the hundreds of thousands)
using Samba. The CPU usage shoots up close to 99%. And
as a result it is very slow on the client (Windows XP)
side too. The directory resides on a 4TB RAID device.
Is this to be expected ? Oh, and by the way the
platform is an Apple X Serve running Mac OS X
10.4.something.
2) Does anybody know if I can access a software RAID
volume created using Mac OS X on a Linux machine ? I
am planning to swap out the X Serve with a PC running
Linux.
