That kinda reminds me of the 10th grade student who goes to great lengths,
after prior explanation
of electrical theory as is pertains to bodily resistance, to ask his father if
there is a better way
to check if a mains socket is live than sticking his finger in there.. and the
father replies with
"don't stick your finger in there, it will hurt"..

I thought I went to great .... really.. great lengths to explain why I'm doing
it the way I'm doing
it, and asked a very specific question with regard to the resolver library..
only to be told..
"don't do that because <insert reason I'm asking the question>"..

Now.. I have the source of the resolver library in front of me, and I *know*
for a fact there is no
way to get it to do what I want it to do without modification.. therefore I
will have to investigate
other options..
What that post was intended to do.. which you shot down so effectively, was
prompt some intelligent
discussion on the domain name system and perhaps some alternatives with regard
to system configuration.

Don't worry, it won't happen again..

I'll go back to sitting in the dark, damp corner and simply trying to answer
basic questions that
could be answered with 5 seconds of effective googling.. thinking outside the
square is perhaps a
little to left of centre for this mailing list these days..
