Good morning everybody,
As you know, we are organizing a 2-day Linux* and Free Open Source
Software, FOSS, workshop on 15-16 April 2007.
The management of Etisalat University College wants to know how many
people are really interested to present something during this event
before we proceed. In other words, if you are interested to present
anything related to FOSS, whether a presentation, a workshop, hands-on,
a demo, a case study, personal experience, howtos,...please send me an
email, as soon as possible, and tell me how many presentations you want
to prepare. For academic institutions, we encourage also students to
participate and present whatever they want related to FOSS.
The following are some suggested sections for the Workshop, you can
suggest others:
1) Education
2) Localization and Arabic Computing
3) Operating Systems
4)Wireless Networking
5) Security
6)Web Services
7)Storage & Archiving
8)Software Development
9)Case Studies
10)Desktop Computing
11)FLOSS Applications
12) Performance and Tuning
13)High Performance Computing
14) Embedded Systems
15) FLOSS in Business, Government, Entertainment
Please reply as soon as you can and forward this memo to any FOSS lover.
Regards,
Ahmed Bentiba

* I know that Linux is included in OSS, for marketing reasons we
decided to call it "Linux and FOSS workshop" because Linux is more
popular than OSS (which open another debate mathematical and
philosophical: an element is more important than the whole set!)
