Hi, To get total file size use -s (summary option) too, i.e. du -sh

Similar to DOS DIR command. DOS DIR command list each directory entry and at end it summarizes Total File(s) lited: 22 file(s) 1,234,567 bytes 2 dir(s) 1,024 bytes. ls gives listing of each directory entry. df gives total size of hdd.
