Hello, everyone.I'm Aamir Sajwani, 19 year old Linux user who's been hooked
to Linux ever since I tried out zipslack all those years ago. I'm glad I
finally found a LUG in the UAE, and I think that serves as purposeful, brief
introduction.

For rather useful reading purposes, I'd like to state that it may be likely
that Ubuntu may be used in a computer lab or two at The Westminster School
next school year, as part of my initiative for improved computer security. I
approached the Principal of the school with evidence that I'd been able to
retrieve the facebook usernames and passwords of at least 70 students merely
by placing a 10 year old keylogger on one of the machines, which spread
rather virulently, considering the number of USB memory sticks and data
transferred between computers. He was quite concerned about the situation,
despite the fact that all computers have Sophos antivirus (lol, sophos) with
the latest updates and virus definitions, and yet it could not detect the
keylogger.

He said he's quite open to the idea of trying out Linux, and was especially
pleased to know that it's completely free. Hopefully we'll be seeing Ubuntu
in a computer lab as a test run next year. If this goes ahead, would this be
the first time a school in the UAE is utilising Linux on the student level?
If so, I'd feel rather happy and proud about that :D

I think that's enough for now, looking forward to hear from you soon!

P.S.: When's the next LUG meeting, if there is one? And where can I be
directed to the details?
